• Urgency and scarcity — “Tonight only.” “Last chance.”
• Social proof that triggers FOMO as others rush to buy

None of these techniques alone are inherently wrong. But layered together, they create biochemical intensity. When emotion spikes high enough, critical thinking goes off the rails The body floods with adrenaline and belonging chemicals; and in that state, the offer feels like salvation.

Aha! ~ the real cost isn’t the price tag, it’s the dependency.

The subtle message you’ve been fed is this: You need me to access your power. And that’s where discernment matters.

Hoffman doesn’t suggest cynicism. She suggests sovereignty. She invites readers to slow the moment down and come back into their own body — to notice when urgency feels manufactured, when excitement feels chemically amplified, when the decision feels rushed instead of grounded.

Her recommendations are simple yet powerful.

• Pay attention to your body — tightness, adrenaline spikes, dissociation – come back into yourself
• Delay decisions made in heightened emotional states
• Question pressure, scarcity, and exaggerated promises
• Think independently instead of merging with the crowd
• Trust your own instincts over the energy of the room

A true mentor does not need to manufacture pressure. They do not create fear of missing out. They do not position themselves as the gatekeeper to your breakthrough.
