Feedback Addiction
Jun 30, 2025Are you hooked on real-time tracking of your health performance?
We’ve normalized strapping technology to our bodies under the banner of “health - step counters, sleep monitors, heart rate trackers—all promising a better, stronger, more optimized you.
But are we measuring … or just monitoring?
Here’s the thing: most people don’t realize that wearable tech (like fitness watches) emits constant electromagnetic fields (EMFs) including while you sleep. These subtle but chronic exposures interfere with your body’s natural electromagnetic balance, disrupt cell signaling, and can negatively impact sleep, focus, recovery, and even heart coherence.
In other words: the device telling you your heart rate variability might also be lowering it.
We’ve been sold on the idea that more data = better health; but often, it leads to more anxiety, less trust in the body, and a dependence on technology to tell us how we feel.
Can the thing you’re using to measure your performance actually be inhibiting it?
Aha! ~ Disconnect to reconnect
Convenient data tracking is not always a companion to well-being but walking barefoot in the park could be.
Dr. Joseph Mercola and Dr. David Perlmutter have both spoken about the energetic weakening effects of wearable tech. In fact, many holistic practitioners and chiropractors use muscle testing to demonstrate the impact of things like holding a cellphone, wearing a smartwatch or being exposed to Bluetooth and WiFi.
But here’s the real question: ca we overcome the addiction to constant data?
If you want a simple real-time experiment, try the classic arm strength test. Have someone gently push down on your extended arm while you resist. First, do it with your fitness watch on, and then repeat without it. Notice the difference in strength and stability.
Your body responds instantly.
But is your mind catching on?
What if we disconnect from tech and connect to our body’s feedback? Start keeping a handwritten journal of things like, how easily you fall asleep or wake up. Add whether you feel calm and present or wired and fatigued. And ask yourself, “Do I move easily, digest easily and think easily?” Note when you’re feeling joyful just because.
The most advanced technology is your own body. It will always tell you the truth in real time.
